Brochure Cover Photography

Role: Art Direction (Concepts and On-Set).

Our client was new in post and wanted to create some really engaging imagery for the new TTS covers. She felt that the in-house photography team were missing the mark, but couldn’t put her finger on why.

I did a critique of the existing imagery and presented a strategy deck outlining the difference in impact of imagery where the children were engaged with their task, rather than posed and smiling at the camera, which had been the previous style.

The client embraced the new approach and we shot over a weekend at a local primary school, the perfect, authentic environment. I double rigged across two shoot teams and directed the children.

I played with them, we danced to music and embraced our silly side, helping to put the children at their ease whilst on camera - it was a fun shoot for all of us.

As a result the images feel really natural and the client was very pleased with the results.

The feedback from TTS customers about the new covers was overwhelmingly positive and TTS have now adopted this approach for their in-house photography style going forward.
